Purveyor of bullshit, a charlatan, a practitioner of quackery and conjecture, a duality of the twins fantasy-reality; light-dark; young-old; good-evil; male-female; right-wrong; top-bottom; fast-slow; left-right; high-low; opposites at every turn, and fortunately being a Gemini allows me to explore for opportunities which exist in the in between.
I hope to offer gleaned wisdom from a life of seventy years, my tips, and a helper's guide for my grandGemini's.
I sincerely hope you find usefulness in what I muse about, or amusment. I regard it the same either way: for I've discovered the power of idon'tgiveashitedness! Stay safe!
My motivation is love of my grand-kids, a desire to be helpful, and a daughters encouragement. I wish to leave examples from my life experience, wisdom earned the hard ways, with the hope it can help avert some of the pain and anguish I've put upon myself, and maybe spark change for them, as others have sparked change in me.
Or maybe you if you're willing to take the time to read the musings of an aging white male with a childish center living in northwest Oregon, married, with four children, eleven grandchildren, who is an ex-smoker, ex-binge drinker, ex-glutton, ex-city commissioner, ex-Board member, once divorced, blender of families, someone who has lost family and friends, had cancer surgery, managed and owned a multimillion dollar midsize manufacturing business, worked in a youth prison, ex-DJ, likes fish, built a house, track rides a sport bike, prefers pop music, remodeled (literally and figuratively), likes cars, likes to dance, drives too fast, has tattoos, and has been retired two years and counting, to give you a sampling of credentials qualifying me to offer up quackery and conjecture.
I've taken help, and wish to leave help in return, and what you find at 4AChange.us is for your use if you so desire.
I'm sure you've heard, it's a process before, and guess what? It is! Like so many things, change requires a systematic approach administered over time. No shortcuts, no easy path, just you against you in a cage fight to the death!
Accepting the process, your commitment to the process and its myriad challenges I feel is a primary component of success. You will have many Sisyphus days. Lots of them in fact! They are those times when disappointment, frustration, little motivation, zero energy, no enthusiasm, and a fuck-it-all attitude all conspire to take the Sisyphean stone you've been faithfully rolling up the hill, and begins a roll back to the start. Accept that this is part of the process. We humans have to suffer to learn is part of the process on the journey to wisdom I've come to understand.
It is in the Sisyphean moments where attitude, and your dogged persistence to achieve your goals comes in handy. Double down, big breath, try again, and again until you ultimately allow yourself to roll your stone to the top of your hill in triumph, and when you do, please don't forget to celebrate, and congratulate yourself for all your Sisyphean efforts!
Unlike Sisyphus, you have the power to secure your stone(s) at the top of the hill(s), so you're better able to continue your journey without the weight of an unnecessary burden.
Never give up!
Never give in!
Hold your gains!
I only know what I believe I know and what works and doesn't work for me in only my head and life. If you come for answers I have no answers for you, only my answers and my ways. You are the only one who can answer for or account for your behaviors. I am only here as reference, as you'll need to generate your own answers to your own questions as they arise in your own head, about your personal ride, just as I have done with mine. I can only tell you how I approach, climb over, go under, around, or plung through what life puts in my path, and offer it solely as another way.
Do I think my way of thinking, reasoning, and going about things is absolutely hands down the best way period? You better believe it! Don't you about yours? I think we all do some, and I also believe if you'd just listen and do what I say and do, you'd be a happy, healthy, barefoot, vegan feeling like you fell into the Fountain of Youth.
Most days you'll be in in a great mood, clear headed, with energy like someone shoved a lightning bolt up your ass, and all in under three years instead of whatever myriad issues you have. So I guess yeah, I would like you to follow, but only because of the benefits it has brought me, and not because there is anything wrong with you. I just want the same better for you that I have, that's all.
Unfortunately for you, you can't and you won't, and probably couldn't be me anyway, you very rarely are, or if so not very damn long. Ever! It's okay that I don't understand why you're always so affraid to throw away any of the old crap? What its hold is? Who your boogeymen or women are, what you're afraid of, why you are unwilling to give any new way a try, even for just shits and grins, and then actually stick with something, just one good thing for long enough to see what the hell good might happen to you?
It's okay, because I can't be you, and you can't be me. You have to blaze the trail alone, in the wilderness you create in your head. We can only be the change we wish to cultivate within and for ourselves. We may have related aspirations, but to attain those is solely through individual efforts. You're in this alone boys and girls, and I'm willing to share what I've learned with you, but that's as far as I can go. You'll have to journey alone, ride your own ride, live or die by your own head.
Which dear reader is why I offer free unsolicited advice that sounds like preaching and judgement, but is not meant to be construed as such. It is for you to use or not. It is only another way, not the best way, or only way, just my way, and no matter how much I want it for you there is nothing I can do for you. Please, you do you, and maybe this time try different, maybe more than once or twice. One-year, one goal!
